Hi,

I made an installation cd with one of the guides. I reboot my computer, it boot the dvd, the apple and the grey background appears but the installation doesnt continue. If i try the -v mode i have the following error:

Failed to load extension com.apple.nvidia.nv30hal

After i received another error that repeats hundreds of times. It's someting of the IO. If you think it could be useful, i will write here.

Intel Pentium 4HT, 3215 MHz

Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-G

nVIDIA Geforce FX 5200

does anybody know what it's wrong?

thanks a lot y continue this great job. I want to try Tiger before buying one next year :-D

The first failure is:

SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE FAIL, ASC=0X11, ASCQ=0x00

disk1s2: I/O error

disk1s2: I/O error

disk1s2: I/O error

disk1s2: I/O error

.....

after some lines of that error it begins another error and another and another....

I've tried this cd on another computer and the installation starts so it's not problem from the cd.

thanks

PD: i dont know if this post should be here or in failure

Ther's no problem with the video card, but with the DVD Drive on which the DVD is being used. The SAM Multimedia error is the possibility of two reasons:

1. Not properly playable DVD in the present drive (usually older DVD drives).

2. Improperly burnt discs.

But as u mentioned that the disc went fine on another computer, reasons might be that either the DVD Rom/RW

drive might be newer or the DVD was burnt on that particular drive.

Hope this helps to figure out the problem.
