Slice
I understand, you have no macOS to use my advice. I am not ready to say you what to do. You have to use Shell.efi and set some NVRAM variables. X-0v3r
I have almost the same problem. You have to fiddle with the "config.plist" file, and add your own entries to ensure you can still boot your OS even if the timer won't work: https://superuser.com/a/1120829 Then, you'll have to fiddle with the "Timeout" and "DefaultVolume" or "DefaultLoader" (the latter seems to not work though, even if I'm 100% positively sure of the loader's path. That's my issue) and set the right values so it'll work.
