MrAndre
Hey guys, I'm currently have some issue regarding Apple TV+ app, so it can play videos for a while then it just playing audio only , no images. So I had to closed the player then play the video again, but it doesn't solve the problem that I had for now. The problem is also applied for Apple Music videos and on Safari the problem is still same one. On my system I am using WEG 1.5.7 and boot args "unfairgva=6", already tried to use other combination like 1 / 2 / 4 / 7 but it just won't work. I've already tried to use version 1.6.1 and boot args "enable-gva-support" but the DRM is broken, also already tried to force AppleGVA to use AMD GPU to decode video, it doesn't work either. Here is my system spec : Processor : Intel Core i5 7600K GPU : Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 (disabled) AMD Radeon HD 7730 (spoofed as HD 7750), connected through HDMI OS : macOS Monterey 12.6.1 SMBIOS : iMac Pro 1.1 Bootloader : Clover 5150 Any ideas ? Thanks ! Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/354707-apple-tv-drm-problem-on-monterey/ Share on other sites
Slice
First, make the signature. Second, you should disable iGPU HD630 and use only Radeon. In this combination I have DRM working in QuickTime. (without WhateverGreen and all his arguments). But I am not sure about your HD7730. Otherwise you may set iGPU to headless mode (ig-platform-id=0x59120003) and set SMBIOS to iMac18,3. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/354707-apple-tv-drm-problem-on-monterey/#findComment-2796820 Share on other sites
MrAndre
The iGPU itself is already disabled. I can play DRM iTunes video properly, it just Apple TV+ and Apple Music video problem. So right now I am trying to change SMBIOS and enable the iGPU Edited November 8, 2022 by MrAndre Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/354707-apple-tv-drm-problem-on-monterey/#findComment-2796876 Share on other sites
MrAndre
Updates. I've already tried to change SMBIOS to iMac 18.3 and enable iGPU in headless mode, but I found something interesting. If I use "unfairgva=1" -> full hardware acceleration video encode / decode in Videoproc, iTunes DRM video can be played but no pictures, Apple TV+ or Apple Music video contents can't be watched then option "unfairgva=2" -> same result as above then option "unfairgva=4" -> acceleration video encode / decode in Videoproc only on HEVC not H264, DRM is totally broken in iTunes / Apple TV+ / Apple Music video contents then option "unfairgva=6" -> same as above then option "unfairgva=7" -> same result from option 4 lastly without unfairgva -> same result from option 1 If I still using SMBIOS iMac Pro 1.1 and iGPU disabled, no hardware acceleration in Videoproc with or without unfairgva but in order to watch DRM content I need unfairgva=6 I suspected this problem is related AMD GPU Edited November 8, 2022 by MrAndre Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/354707-apple-tv-drm-problem-on-monterey/#findComment-2796893 Share on other sites
Slice
iTunes/Apple Music officially not supports DRM. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/354707-apple-tv-drm-problem-on-monterey/#findComment-2796900 Share on other sites
MrAndre
Sorry for late reply Well, after I replaced the HD 7730 with RX 6600, the DRM is now working Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/354707-apple-tv-drm-problem-on-monterey/#findComment-2799438 Share on other sites
