spanakorizo
it doesnt ask for your permission/password when you try to paste the file? try this: open terminal ,type sudo -s type your password exit terminal now try to copy/paste the file via gui it will ask for password so you can paste ofcourse you can do it directly from terminal with "cp" but i dont know what file you want to copy/paste now etc etc Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35457-modifying-extensions-folder-in-system/#findComment-252263 Share on other sites
Rammjet
Generally, you get 2 dialog boxes. One says you can't do that, but has an Authenticate button. Click the button and give your password. The second asks if you want to replace the existing kext (only if there is an old one to replace). Rammjet
Put the Ati.kext on your Desktop Go to Terminal: sudo cp -R ~/Desktop/Ati.kext /System/Library/Extensions/ Be sure to do things like repair the permissions on the kext and remove the kext cache files before you reboot.
