leslieking
I have an Intel Pentium 4 PC (IBM Netvista). The CPU work at 2GHz and has SSE2 support. The motherboard chipset is: "Intel Brookdale-G i845G". I have an issue with videocard, I don't have QE/CI support. My video card is GeForce FX 5200 AGP. Every GeForce FX 5200 on 10.4.8 HCL page has QE/CI support: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...#Graphics_Cards. Now I use the latest semthex kernel beta 9 (with SSE2 support) and titan.kext but nothing happen. My GeForce FX 5200 device ID in system profiler is 0x0322 I add this ID to: /system/library/extensions/geforce.kext /system/library/extensions/nvdanv40hal.kext /system/library/extensions/nvdaresman.kext I have an updated Jas 10.4.6 OSX86 to 10.4.8. I use this package : http://www.filefactory.com/file/e5d2ba/ to update my osx86. Well I use the latest kernel with titan and QE/CI not work for me. Any idea what I need to do to use QE/CI ? I don't want to change my card if possible, please write me solutions. Thanks ! ChiefWiggum
Check these thread for the files http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=34244 Also in your case, I think you should edit /system/library/extensions/nvdanv30hal.kext (not 40) As for the Blank blue screen, I had got this too at one stage this went away after installing the original 10.4.8 OpenGl.Framework Remember to repairPermissions !! Copy/Extract from the original Apple 10.4.8 package file and replace-paste into your /System/Library/Frameworks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35393-geforce-fx-5200-qeci-problem/#findComment-251757 Share on other sites
* Razor *
Hey Chief, I`ve done that instructions from the link you send and that was the kernel panic I`ve told you guys about. That Frameworks I have, and they are probably from the Jas DVD 10.4.8 I`ve installed, is this the correct framework directory? I`ve done a lot so far, what I last did was changing the DevID of those GeForce.kext and NVDA*.kext. I`ve installed Titan from the original Jas package. Do I have to modify Titan either with correct DevID? Thanks for any help... * Razor *
OK I got it working now... It`s freaking amazing!!! Well here is what I did. First I messed up my kexts, instaling everything that people posted around, that works for them and it`s a great help, but just didn`t work for me... After I clean up everything, I altered the GeForce.kext, NVDA*.kext (all 3 of them). I put the correct DevID in those files (0x0322 in my case). After that I downloaded the new version of Titan from the website (I forgot the link, sorry) and instaled it. And voilá!! Everything worked like magic!! Now the weird stuff When checking in About this Mac/More information in the part of Extentions, I didn`t find the Titan.kext there, and more, the GeForce.kext, NVDANV30Hal, NVDANV40Hal have missing dependations, com.apple.NVDAResman is missing... but NVDAResman is there and says that everything is ok with dependencies... This may be a clue to someone smarter than me to try figure out why some people get it working and some don`t... Well I hope I could help a litte... Thank you all Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35393-geforce-fx-5200-qeci-problem/#findComment-251842 Share on other sites
Rammjet
From what I've seen, the key is to put your device id into these two kexts: GeForce.kext, NVDAResman.kext -- and -- one of the following: NVDANV10Hal.kext, NVDANV20Hal.kext, NVDANV30Hal.kext or NVDANV40Hal.kext. Since the 5200 is an NV34 model, I bet you only had to do the NVDANV30Hal.kext in addition to the first two. I speculate the series goes like this: older cards NVDANV10Hal.kext 4xxx cards NVDANV20Hal.kext 5xxx cards NVDANV30Hal.kext 6xxx cards NVDANV40Hal.kext 7xxx cards NVDANV40Hal.kext Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35393-geforce-fx-5200-qeci-problem/#findComment-251845 Share on other sites
nylock10
I need help. I have a GeForce FX5200 PCI (128MB), but nothing will enable QE/CI! I tried Natit, in sys info it says "GeForce 5200 128MB", but no QE/CI. I tried this tutorial, but I got the same results: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=35422 I just tried this, but I got "You must reboot your computer" when I rebooted. I'm reinstalling OSx86 now to try another driver: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=36044 I got that same message w/MacVidia.
