ufulu Posted December 7, 2006 Share Posted December 7, 2006 Hi there! I have one HD partitioned into 3 disks. (OSX,WINXP & a FAT32) Until recently I could access all files and folders on the WINXP HD. All of a sudden I can't do ths anymore? I can access some folders but for instance the documents&settings folder is empty, even the app "whatsize" shows 0 KB? I didn't fiddle with the system for quite a while couse everything is running fine! Thanks again to JaS & SemmteX. So any clue what might have gone wrong and how I can get to see all my files again? Rammjet Posted December 7, 2006 Share Posted December 7, 2006 Did you try to write any files to your Win partition while booted in OSX? Do you have MacDrive installed in Win? Some people have said they had file problems while using that, although I haven't yet seen a problem. ufulu Posted December 8, 2006 Author Share Posted December 8, 2006 I had macdrive installed so i uninstalled it but still can't access all the folders on the Windows partition. It's strange couse it only seem to be "windows folders" I can't access like programs,windows or documents & settings. Other folders can be accessed... Any other suggestions? Rammjet Posted December 8, 2006 Share Posted December 8, 2006 Remember, if Windows is formatted as NTFS, OSX can only read files on that partition. It cannot edit or write to a file on that partition. Yes I am aware of the fact that under OSX I can only read the NTFS partition. Never the less until recently I could at least read all files and folders on the NTFS partition and now all "Windows" folders appear empty...
