Kj Furl
Not sure it this is within "newbie posting" rules but am trying to run a High Sierra 10.13.6 installation on the above board. If anyone can direct to an actual working efi using any opencore version to start the learning process.. thanks. I have tried the tips on the forum here (can't post there yet) . My issue is that installation via the recommended method (might) have been directed more toward a later OSX system such as mojave/catalina etc. As I am getting no recognition of "install osx" on hard drive after writing to it via installer USB using the method on that forum. I have to install High Sierra to take advantage of some older software and GFX card issues. Anyone using High Sierra via OC on this motherboard .. thanks. Kj Furl
Thanks.. that is a near identical board, I'll try it out... oops just noticed that is a Clover install efi... I'm looking for a OpenCore install. thanks anyway as the plist might have some info for me Edited April 13, 2022 by Kj Furl mistaken install version Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/351427-opencore-high-sierra-on-z77mx-quo-aos/#findComment-2780053 Share on other sites

That should get you going. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/351427-opencore-high-sierra-on-z77mx-quo-aos/#findComment-2780133 Share on other sites
Kj Furl
Tried that .. and OCAux... says it is "not a clover smbios" or Efi.. It seems to do that a lot with other Clover configs.. as well Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/351427-opencore-high-sierra-on-z77mx-quo-aos/#findComment-2780479 Share on other sites
Middleman
Okay, then you'll need to start from scratch with Opencore. You could start with it like this. This is a working build EFI file I made recently for someone else's Z68 setup using OC 0.7.8.EFI Z68 2.zip And if it helps, these were the BIOS and some Clover settings I used in my old Asus P8Z68 VPro Clover build for High Sierra:Set in BIOSAI Tweaker > Ai Overclock Tuner > AutoAI Tweaker > Turbo Ratio > AutoAI Tweaker > Internal PLL Overvoltage > AutoAI Tweaker > Memory Frequency > AutoAI Tweaker > EPU Power Saving Mode > DisabledAI Tweaker > CPU Power Management > CPU Ratio > AutoAI Tweaker > CPU Power Management > Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology > EnabledAI Tweaker > CPU Power Management > Turbo Mode > EnabledAdvanced Settings > CPU Configuration > Active Processor Cores > AllAdvanced Settings > CPU Configuration > Limit CPUID Maximum > DisabledAdvanced Settings > CPU Configuration > Execute Disable Bit > EnabledAdvanced Settings > CPU Configuration > Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology > EnabledAdvanced Settings > CPU Configuration > Turbo Mode > EnabledAdvanced Settings > CPU Configuration > CPU C1E > AutoAdvanced Settings > CPU Configuration > CPU C3 Report > AutoAdvanced Settings > CPU Configuration > CPU C6 Report > AutoAdvanced Settings > CPU Configuration > Intel Virtualization Technology > EnabledAdvanced Settings > PCH Configuration > High Precision Timer > EnabledAdvanced Settings > SATA Configuration > SATA Mode Selection > AHCIAdvanced Settings > SATA Configuration > S.M.A.R.T. Middleman
And here's one more EFI for you, designed for GA-Z77-DS5H. It is on OC 0.7.6. It can run up to Big Sur.
