troisd
Hello, I have an Acer Aspire 3624 with GMA900. Using JaS 10.4.6 Install (selected GMA900 optional package). To use the built-in LCD display I need to use a VGA dongle. When I plug in an external LCD display, the main screen becomes the external LCD display and the laptop's LCD becomes dark and inactive (according to Profiler). How can I activate extended display to use both built-in LCD and external LCD? "Detect Displays" does not work. No mirror option either. Thanks. marliwahoo
I'm no expert but ...... I don't think you can. To get spanning displays with GMA 900 on a desktop computer requires an add2 card. I'm not sure about a lpatop. Do a search for laptops with gma900. ufulu
I have some simmilar issues sometimes: While booting OSX I press Fn+F4 (the key combo to change your displays, might be another combo on your notebook) until it shows "out of range" on my external LCD . This then displays everythng with the correct resolution on my internal display, and sometimes an "extended desktop" on the other... but only sometimes. To get my external LCD recognized I do the following: 1. Disconnect the external monitor and klick the "detect display" button. 2. make sure the power of your external monitor is off! 3. Plug the cable back in, klick detect displays again and while the "detect button is still blue, turn on the power of your monitor and you should be done. Usually this works really good but sometimes it's a bit bitchy and I have to do it a couple of times till I get my external monitor. Hope this helps you...
