It seems there's a bit of contraditatory info out there as to whether you should disable one of the processors or not when using the latest Jas install...

Sure I can imagine that there is NO sure-fire recipie with all sorts of configurations out there... but here's a question I haven't yet seen a definite answer for:

If I disable one of the processors in BIOS for the install, can I activate it after install, and will the OS support both cores?

thanx for the info, viva Hackintosh!

Some machines suffer "stuttering", "hesitation" and freezes. Disabling one core often fixes this. Usually have to do it all the time.

But rather than change BIOS, boot with the boot option of cpus=1. If it works for you, add "cpus=1" to the boot.plist file under the Kernel Flags parameter. Doing this in software means you don't have to keep going to BIOS if you boot between OSX and Windows/Linux.
