flashback99
I've got a weird problem after installing the 10.4.8 dvd + Titan: After clicking on "About this Mac" the OS restarts. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.. f99 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34993-selecting-about-this-mac-restarts-os-x/ Share on other sites
phor2zero
Is it really OS X that's restarting? Or is it possibly just Finder (your desktop/GUI) that's restarting? Rammjet
During installation, select the 10.4.4 loginwindow option. In OSX, insert install DVD and let it mount on Desktop. Open DVD and follow this path: /System/Installation/Packages. Find the 10.4.4 LoginWindow.pkg. Double-click it. Afterward repair permissions. Then reboot. flashback99
hi guys thanks for the responses: @phor3zero: You could be right, it could well be finder restarting as it's almost instantaneous... @rammjet: Can I install the package from the cd as you mention, or do I need to reinstall the os...? I hope it's not the latter f99 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/34993-selecting-about-this-mac-restarts-os-x/#findComment-248483 Share on other sites

Rammjet
@rammjet: Can I install the package from the cd as you mention, or do I need to reinstall the os...? I hope it's not the latter :: sigh :: Why would I type out one method when I didn't think it would work? Insert DVD and run package. Clean up after yourself. Worst case, you end up reinstalling anyway.
