kuminotaur
Hi i've been trying to create a functional Hackbook setup on my HP Envy x360 (15bp-194cl). My system can boot up Catalina 10.15.7 properly and loads all my USB ports correctly with help from usbmap but my webcam displays a black feed in facetime and photo booth despite being detected in system report as shown below. i tried using the anyisightcam kext but while it did change the camera as being recognized as an isight camera in system report, it had no effects on facetime and photo booth which still show black feeds. anyone have any suggestions? thanks for the help! USB-internal cameras are not all compatible and I found they either work OOB or not at all. You could be in the presence of an unsupported model. Having the device reported in SysInfo->USB only ends it's detected on its USB hub, nothing else. Hi thanks for responding! after a minute of the black feed facetime shows an error message stating that it hasn't received any message from the connected camera. also in system report it shows the camera under SysInfo->Camera as well if that helps
Slice
It means the camera is unsupported.
