Good afternoon, after updating Big Sur to version 11.3 several of the USB ports stopped working, both 2.0 and 3.0. Does anyone know how I do to solve the problem?

My machine is:

Z87-K motherboard
Haswell processor
GeForce GTX 650 Video Card
32 Gb of RAM

Use OpenCore 0.6.8 with all printed drivers and kexts.

Try this to see if it works before you run off and patch like crazy

On my System I just use this mux and a single hotpatch SSDT.

I don't have XHC limiter of any kind as a kext nor a config statement.

FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext.zip

May need to play with EC settings as well.

SSDT-EC.aml

SSDT-USBX-EC.aml

USBports.kext

USBmap.kext

Disable renaming or changing ECO to EC for Fake EC to load in tables (laptop version and desktop version: don't put desktop version
in laptop or vice versa producing some ill.

Supposedly the Problem is when AppleACPIEC attaches to EC like in the pic attached. Then you get some power for Battery to appear in System Preferences. and a few others like a real mac.  However this EC on PC's is not compatible with certain os's anymore or was never.

As it creates instability  and is unsuitable and may produce less the good results down the road as some have procluded.  (may or may not actually unless actual fried unit is given for absolute proof which I have not seen) If it ain't borked doesn't need fixing.

Power problems is touchy subject.

But you may lose the Battery icon and get the Energy one instead.

So if you have Energy Icon in Sys Prefs. your EC is fake and AppleACPIEC is attaching to it and not the real EC
