deschurk
Hi there insanely friends I'm trying to do a fresh install of BigSur on my desktop device. All seems to go really well and I get into the setup/installation. I'm using OpenCore and I did all the steps on the Dortania tutorial. I created a bootable USB which brings me into the setup/installation. During the setup/installation it brings me to '12 minutes remaining' and then it goes into the first reboot. I searched some youtube video's of the installation and it seems quite normal that the setup/installation reboots at that point. The only problem is, after the reboot it should continue with installation but sadly for me it doesn't. It keeps rebooting rebooting rebooting. Here are my bios settings: Disabled Fast Boot Secure Boot Serial/COM Port VT-d CSM Intel SGX CFG Lock Enabled VT-x Above 4G decoding Hyper-Threading Execute Disable Bit EHCI/XHCI Hand-off OS type: UEFI Mode DVMT Pre-Allocated(iGPU Memory): 128MB SATA Mode: AHCI And this is what I see before the boot loop start again: Any thoughts? Without knowing your specific hardware/BIOS here are a few suggestions: Make sure you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard. If you have TPM in your BIOS disable it and hide it. Disable secure boot in OC (from Default to Disabled). Load Lilu.kext first in OC config and add any necessary boot flags in OC. Remove all but the the minimum of kexts and drivers necessary to get to the installer/desktop and still have mouse/trackpad functional. If you are still having problems look here for a match or close match for your hardware: https://github.com/topics/hackintosh?o=desc&s=updated Edited April 25, 2021 by HenryV Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/347235-boot-loop-after-first-stage-of-installation/#findComment-2756457 Share on other sites
STLVNUB
Sometimes you need to point OC to the right HDD AFTER that reboot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/347235-boot-loop-after-first-stage-of-installation/#findComment-2756588 Share on other sites
