cbreaker
I have your basic box with an Opteron 165 (dual core) CPU, with a bunch of cards and all sorts of disks and partition types =) The Asus A8V apparently is a good choice for this. It just happens to be the one I'm using. LAN, Sound, it works. I got lucky. I have a BFG 6800GT card with two HP L2335 monitors. One is connected VGA and the other DVI. Right now, using the current Natit.kext and the 2.1u2 AGPGart, I am able to use both displays at 1920x1200. It works! Kind of. When I installed this 10.4.8 image, it came with the Titan driver. Only the VGA screen worked, but it did work, and CI/QE was enabled. Unfortunately, I had no idea how to get dual screen working (this is my first attempt at a Hackintosh.) I replaced Titan with Natit, and now both screens do work. I had to use some tool I found to add a custom resolution to the VGA screen because it only had 1920x1200@75Hz which the monitor doesn't support. Once I added the 60hz mode, it works. So, I don't expect someone to solve this for me, but I don't even know where to start. What should I try doing? What could I change? Where do I start? I'm not a CLI newbie; been using Linux for years. A little push in the right direction would be all I need! Thanks in advance, this forum has been indispensable. ps. Sorry for opening up another thread on this. I've read many, many pages of posts about this type of thing but I can't follow a lot of it since this is my first foray into the OSX world. I'll post a few things I think might be helpful: This is the Profiler list for my video: nVidia GeForce 6800 GT: Chipset Model: nVidia GeForce 6800 GT Type: Display Bus: AGP VRAM (Total): 256 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0045 Revision ID: 0x00a1 Displays: hp L2335: Resolution: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported L2335 Analog: Resolution: 1920 x 1200 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported This is the Natit bootup message: Nov 30 19:37:46 localhost kernel[0]: Natit: Starting. cbreaker
Yea okay, I'll post it there too. I looked all around that forum but the information is so discombobulated that I can't make heads or tails out of most of it. "Edit the thingymabob, and you're all set." "It works!!! Thanks!!!!"
