Recommended Posts

One of the biggest factors is whether the chip in your card is supported.

 

The actual chip or Integrated Circuit as opposed to the brand of the card.

Research whether your intended switch hardware supports static/dynamic allocated ports for your anticipated VLAN needs.  Additionally, whether you would benefit from a smart router that can tag VLAN packets if you are trunking to a main router/gateway.
