Hello everyone,

I'm planning on getting a new PC for development on macOS and gaming on Windows.

I've received a nice build suggestion but I have a few questions and would also love to hear your opinion.

CPU  Intel Core i7-10700K BX8070110700K
Motherboard Gigabyte Z490-AORUS-ELITE - LGA1200
RAM G-Skill - F4-3600C16D-16GVK - 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600 Mhz CL16-16-16-36-2N - 1.2V - Ripjaws V Series - Bdie
GPU SAPPHIRE 11293-03-40G NITRO RADEON RX5700XT 8G GDDR6
2 SSDs for Windows and Mac MZ-V7S500BW - Samsung 500GB SSD 970 EVO Plus M.2 NVMe (M2)
HDD (Share) Seagate - ST2000DM008 2TB - 3.5 inch -SATA3 6Gb/s - 7200rpm - 256MB Cache - BarraCuda
Case Antec - NX800-NPS - NX800 - Mid Tower - Glass Window - 3x 3.5 - 4x 2.5 - 2x 200mm ARGB, 1x 120mm ARGB fan included - Max GPU Size 350mm - 470x230x500mm EATX - NPS
PSU Corsair - CP-9020179-EU - 750W 80 PLUS® Gold RMx Series™ RM750x V2 - Black — Fully Modular PSU
Cooling Corsair CW-9060038-WW - Hydro Series H115i Platinum RGB Liquid CPU Cooler

WiFi+BT

Fenvi WiFi FV-T919 BCM94360CD

Monitor  ASUS - VG249Q

And here are my questions:

  1. Should I take the G.Skill Ripjaws V with 3200MHz instead of G.Skill Ripjaws V Bdie with 3600MHz? Because I would need to add 227$ for the one with 3600MHz
  2. I want my PC to be quiet, Is the NX800 a good choice here?
  3. Do you think a ST2000DM008 - Seagate 2TB would fit here? Is it reliable? (As a share drive for both operations systems)
  4. and lastly could you recommend a dual boot guide for this build?

Go for the 3200MHz rather and put the extra dollars on the gigabyte z490 vision d.

For the case, if you're taking a vision d, then go for the nzxt h510. It has usb c with gen2 speed. The nzxt h510i just has some case lighting, nothing too fancy.

the 2tb would do for dual boot if it is formatted in exfat

I have made a z490 vision d efi because that board is the new normal.

Alright, Taking the Z490 Vision D really does sound like a good idea since many hackintoshes were build with it and its the successor of the Z390 Designare.

I think I'll keep the NX800 instead of nzxt 510h since Vision D already has 2 type c (TB3) ports so I don't think I need another one.

Btw how can I check the formatting of the 2tb drive?

Your 2tb drive will be formatted under exfat, either by disk utility or windows format tool. The case is your discretion. Invest in a good one now and you may not need to regret later. Z490 vision D hackintosh on Big Sur was completed by @Moviemakergr. The first guy on forums to accomplish it.

For 3200MHz ram, if the budget fits you right, go for the CL14 based RAM. It's not a priority and wouldn't make much of a difference but is a nice-to-have.

I'm buying the PC from an online store in my country and I see they have a 3200 Mhz CL16-18-18-38 - 1.2V - Ripjaws V Series. Do you think it's a good one?

also consulted with a salesman there and he said the drive is formatted in FAT32, so I googled it and apparently it's also compatible with macOS
