Hi,

I have just moved from Clover to OpenCore after about 6 months. Everything seems to be working fine except for this one issue which I didn't't have in Clover. Basically, when I try to sleep, after a few seconds, it just wakes again. After trying many different things to see what the cause was, I narrowed it down to when my CyberPower UPS is plugged in via USB - if I unplug it, it sleeps without issue. I wondered if anyone had any ideas for fixing it?

Note that the only thing I brought over from Clover was my USBPorts.kext, for everything else I started form scratch, following the Desktop guide here https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Desktop-Guide/

Using OpenCore 0.5.9 & MacOS 10.15.5.

Here are my build details:

  • Core i7 8700k
  • ASUS Prime Z390M-Plus
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3000MHz 2 x 16GB
  • Gigabyte RX570 Gaming 4G
  • fenvi T919
  • SSDT's: AWAC / EC-USBX / PLU / PMC / SBUS-MCHC
  • Drivers: AudioDxe / HhsPlus / OpenCanopy / OpenRuntime
  • Kexts: AppleALC / IntelMausi / Lilu / NVMEFix / SMSProcessor / SMSSuperIO / USBPorts / VirtualSMC / WhateverGreen

Thanks!

OK, after some more research, I have sort of solved it by looking for solutions to instant wake. The solution was actually from the OC Laptop guide (https://1revenger1.gitbook.io/laptop-guide/battery-power-management/correcting-sleep-problems) on the page about patching instant wake issues. I patched with method 1, as that is what came up when searching my DSDT. I am now able to stay asleep with the UPS connect.
There is one downside though, I can now only wake using the power button; keyboard or mouse will not work.
So, I will take this for now, but as it was OK on Clover without that patch, then I will keep searching!

EDIT: Actually, this is also in the Desktop guide here: https://dortania.github.io/USB-Map-Guide/misc/instant-wake.html
