Hi,

I am trying to book MacOS Catalina but I get stuck at:

IOConsoleUsers: gIOScreenLock (3...

My configuration is the following:

I have double checked that:

  • CSM is off in the BIOS
  • ig-platform-id and device-id are valid if running an iGPU.
  • Tried with and without -igfxmlr boot flag

I am using OpenCore 0.5.9 as boot loader.

And I am using VGA to connect my monitor, as it is the only video out available for my motherboard.

In the attachment my config.plist

I couldn't find any method to fix it,  so what I do was to install macOS Catalina into a 32 GB USB,  then boot from there,  and back up my information,  then reformat the hard drive, install sierra and put my information back.  Lesson learned, always use the Time Machine to have your info updated.

VGA not supported on HD4600. No patch, no workaround, no nothing. If that's all you have as display output, you're out of luck and will need an add-on PCIe graphics card.

Yes... that's all I have...

WhateverGreen has a section on VGA Support...

@Hervé Do you think that it will not work in any way?
