How TO properly instal KOVERG PATCH?

Hey guys can you help me? I have lappy Acer Aspire 1652wlmi with Ati mobility x300 64mb device id: 5460,

I can Instal callisto 003 and then I can change my resolution its ok But when I install a kovergs patch, then I reload and allways have an error that

 

 

" The system extation ... ATIRadeon9700.kext" was installed impropely and can not be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact products vendor for for an update"

 

 

What I need to do??? Please can you explain me how I need properly install kovergs patch mabe I do something wrong? My OSX version 10.4.4 PLEASE HELP ME

Is this a Tutorial?

 

In Terminal:

cd /System/Library/Extensions
sudo chown -R root:wheel ATIRadeon9700.kext
(give password)
sudo chmod -R 755 ATIRadeon9700.kext
cd /System/Library
sudo rm -rf Extensions.mkext Extensions.kextcache

Then reboot

yea, first driver, not working for me, now Im reinstaling osx and will try to aply all in one script, mabe thats will help me

I had apply all in one, and nothing, just nothing, even resolution doesnt change

The All-in-One scripts continue to have errors. The author hardwires his user name to the script.

 

In both doe.sh and doesingle.sh, open them up and replace all instances (should be one in each at top) of z0rz with `whoami` . Don't forget the backquotes at beginning and end (` is to the left of the 1 key on keyboard). Doing this looks up and uses your user name no matter who runs the script.

Be sure to delete the Extensions.mkext and Extensions.kextcache before rebooting or the new kexts might not be recognized on boot.

yep , and try to fix its permission as well. I have added a couple of Device IDs as well. This time it should work on OEM X300s as well..

1. About the username problem with the all in one package. It is fixed in version 2. HOWEVER!!!!. The links are not accurate. I dont know if the author is trying to trick people or not as version 1 is point to version 2 and vice versa.

2. And if you have read the instruction you should know you are not suppose to put ../doe.sh $2 $2 $1 $0

but something like

sudo ./doe.sh cal5 0x0x0 1 0

 

Read the readme file inside the zip.

and try manually editing the device ID. Again the instruction is inside the zip file

The first way to repair permissions is to open Disk Utility (in the Utilities folder), select your OSX partition on the left and on the right, click Repair Permissions.

 

However, sometimes Disk Utility doesn't fix kexts properly.

 

Open Terminal and type:

cd /System/Library/Extensions
sudo chown -R root:wheel ATIRadeon9700.kext
sudo chmod -R 755 ATIRadeon9700.kext
cd /System/Library
sudo rm -rf Extensions.mkext Extensions.kextcache

Then reboot

I install callisto 006, then install koverg, then repair permissions with this:

cd /System/Library/Extensions

sudo chown -R root:wheel ATIRadeon9700.kext

sudo chmod -R 755 ATIRadeon9700.kext

cd /System/Library

sudo rm -rf Extensions.mkext Extensions.kextcache

 

then was something terrible, it was a artifacts on my screen, just white dots, and something else, its funny I make a record of install osx I have install it 23 times! =) and allways have crushes after repeir permissions!

mabe I need other build of callisto for my laptop, or I dont know, my x300 integrated, and mabe I cant load qe/ci about this. If you have some idea tell me Ill be realy happy! =) to reinstal it again

 

mabe I need diferent build of osx, I have it all, or other combination of install koverg and callisto, or somebody will help me, my ICQ# 214714478 please help me.
