Hi to all.

I have a problem with installation of Catalina in my PC.

I had create USB bootable with Catalina. I had installed Clover bootloader and replace config.plist with the GitHub version of Vanilla Master (for AMD Ryzen, 17h).

I cannot start the installation ‘cause this:

“AMF: Only 175/256 slide values are usable!

Valid slides: 81-255

ERROR allocating 0x16f pages at 0x0000000000ec4000 alloc type 2

Error loading kernel cache (0xe)

Boot failed; will sleep for 10 seconds before exiting…”

My hardware is:

MOBO Asus x570-e

CPU AMD Ryzen 7 3600X

GPU AMD RX5700 XT OC

16 GB GSKILL DDR 3600

Can someone help me?

Thank you

What version of Catalina? Clover patches currently only support Catalina 10.15.0 (19A583, 19A602).

Is the last version but I tried the previous version without success. I also tried the gibMacOS method, downloading the special version, but nothing.

A step forward seems to have been the installation of Clover with emuNVR, because in this way I managed to view the ACPI folder and install the SSDT patch, but now the message is "This version of Mac OS X is not supported on this platform, Reason: Mac-F22788AA "(I removed aptiofix kext).

I don't know what else to try ...

This version of Mac OS X is not supported on this platform means your SMBios is not supported. Set it to iMacPro1,1 for your GPU.

Done. In both cases (typing arg or setting iMac Pro) nothing starts. I note the following message, similar to the first:

"ERROR allocating 0x16f pages at 0x0000000000ec2000 alloc type 2
Error loading kernel cache (0xe)
Boot failed; will sleep for 10 seconds before exiting ... "

Hello,

are there any news.

I installed both the SSDT and AppleMCEReporterDisabler.kext patch and managed to start the installation (after updating the config.plist file with the vanilla 17h). The problem now is the following: during the installation screen I can work for a few seconds (about 30). After which the system stops completely (I can hardly start the disk initialization). When restarting, the system will not start unless I update the config.plist file again.

How come the installation stops after a few seconds? Initially I thought you were only blocking mouse and keyboard, instead it is just the whole installation application that goes into freezing ...

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

Hello.

I finally managed to install everything correctly.

I followed these procedures: I formatted the USB in GUID, downloaded the last version of Catalina and installed the last vestige of Clover. I copied the ACPI Patch (taken from the amd vanilla master folder) and the Kext present in the Other folder (I entered the SmallTreeIntel kext that must necessarily be in version 1.0) including the kCP of powerCPU Management, Whatever green and Lilu.
I copied and replaced the config.plist file (always taking it from the amd vanilla master folder). I enter the argument agdpmod=pikera and I have selected the correct mac version (Mac Pro Late 2013).
I was thus able to install the OSX. During the installation I had graphic problems, then solved after the first reboot (the mouse pointer did not correspond with the image). As soon as I made the first start I copied the EFI folder from the USB to the Root Clover of the system. I installed the Smalltreeintel kext and modified the boot files from clover configurator, eliminating the verbose boot mode.
PS If you were not to start the installation, try disabling the secure boot from the bios.

Now the system works perfectly and the graphics card runs with full graphics acceleration!

However, one problem remains: When I try to open programs that manage the raw camera (Photoshop, Lightroom, Canon Digital) I get an error message (unexpected closure). This is a crash on startup that doesn't let me open these systems.

I thought it was a Catalina compatibility problem, but the same programs run smoothly on a macbook pro with Catalina already installed.
Could it be a problem with the graphics card?
Can someone help me? (If necessary, I will open a new thread).

I Attached log file of the error.
