Kernel hangs at almost each boot, but sometimes loads! Why?

Hello

After successful installation of Catalina the system starts only one out of 20 times I try. Most of the times it hangs (maybe) at AppleUSBHostCompositeDevice.kext, but it might be also the Window server.

I am attaching two screenshots - with and without kext debug enabled, the relevant part of my Clover folder, as well as a dump of IORegistryExplorer under High Sierra.

Please make some suggestions how to investigate further even if you don't have a solution.

Thanks in advance!

run this command and see if it improves.

sudo kextcache -invalidate /

that will cause the system to forcefully rebuild your kernel cache. when it is complete (20 sec-2 min later). restart and see if the problem is resolved.

Now I tracked down WHEN this happens: after each and every plain reboot Catalina hangs searching for a root device.

However, if I switch OFF and start, the system boots without problems!!

And yes, I have a SSDT-EC.aml with a fake EC device which gets loaded correctly.

So the question is: which information passed to the kernel is different between a cold start and a reboot?
