I successfully installed Mac 10.4.3 after some issues with booting from DVD but after installing when I rebooted, I can see a blue screen with the mouse but suddenly it disappears and I see a Login window error message. It tries to start login window but it keeps crashing every time. So basically I see a blue screen for a few seconds and return to command line interface and again blue screen and again the same thing keep happening again and again.

I really can't look back now. Help me boot it successfully.

My system is as follows:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600 939

ASUS A8N-E

ATI X1900GT

Audigy 2

250GB SATA

160GB ATA - Mac Installed on this one

Mac version - 10.4.3

Pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaase help

the first thing you should do is try to boot in safe mode.

use command "-x" before the system loads up

if this doesn't work, boot in verbose mode: "-v"

we need the last lines to see what is the error you get.

I can help you install a perfect system for this platform but you need 10.4.7 from Jas.

Get it and call me!

Goodluck!

Thanks for reply.

Unfortunately even the safe mode and verbose modes don't work and give the same error.

But fortunately I have downloaded the Jas 10.4.7 release and all I now need is a blank DVD to burn it. I'll burn it today and try installing it again.

I'll post again to let you know of any progresses.

Thanks again!

Problems and some more problems here. I don't know what the hell is wrong but I simply cannot burn the image successfully. I can mount it perfectly. Its 4.37GB in size so it should fit a DVD-R fine. But after burning when it comes to verifying, all I get is loads of errors. Tried 7 DVD-Rs from different manufacturers. Is there a compatibility problems with DVD-R? None of them boot. Mac installs perfectly in VMware using the mounted image but not from the DVD. Please help. I think I'll be going the VMware route then.
