Hey all, currently in running a Skylake setup with a i7-6700k and Gigabyte z170 gaming 5.

Looking to go current gen (9 series). Are gigabyte boards still the main go to boards or are MSI, Asus and asrock on the “good” list?

Currently looking at the

Gigabyte Z390 GAMING X Intel Z390 and the

Asus ROG STRIX Z390-F GAMING Intel Z390 not sure what the -F is for but am open to other opinions for compatibility and stability for macOS. Main thing I need is dual NVMe support.

go to gigabyte mobos, change only IntelHDGraphics to enable and one full dsdt

I’d be looking to reuse my RX580. The issue I’m having now which is making me think about an upgrade is with the Corsair icue software running my CPU runs at 4ghz but settles down to normal if I quit icue. And that’s on my gigabyte z170x gaming 5 and 6700k.
