4 posts in this topic

Recommended Posts

My machine has 4 gb of RAM, placed another stick in the machine , it reads in the bios as 8 gb , but wont boot to High Sierra , if i take out that same stick of memory it boots to High Sierra

What could be the issue and solution ??????

Thanks

Are both modules of the same type?

You could try to rule out a defect with that additional RAM module by replacing the initial 4GB DIMM with the new one and see how the computer then behaves. If HiSie still won't boot, you'll know you have an issue with that new module...

Then incompatible module may be of wrong type of RAM. Ideally, your new module should be of the same type as the built-in RAM.
