LMHmedchem
I have my system working in large part (the system in my signature), but have been trying today to get the SMBIOS settings correct. Today I did the following, - installed the latest Clover Configurator (5.4.4.0) - set the machine to a 19,2 (which is an i7-8700 and I have an i7-8700k). - generated a serial number with the generate button and checked it at checkcoverage.apple.com When I do this check, I get the message, "We’re sorry, but this serial number isn’t valid. Please check your information and try again." I thought I should get the message, "We're sorry, the number you have provided cannot be found in our records. Please verify the number and try again" - generated a random SMUUID using the "generate" button in Clover Configurator. - replaced the first 12 characters of the board serial number with the serial number I used above I left the the last 5 characters what they were. - saved the plist.config file and restarted. On restart, I get a different looking clover screen (it is tan in color). If I try to boot OSX, I immediately get the stop sign. I switched on verbose, but that doesn't give me any error messages, I get the stop sign immediately. I have restored back to the stable system, but I need to complete this step and get the SMBIOS settings right. I am wondering if there is some issue with calling the system 19,3 when I am using High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G5019) . The apple 19, computers are newer and I guess they may not expect them to be running High Sierra. Any suggestions? Picasso
You have to change Smbios in Clover menu - 18,3. Boot and change in Confyg sys. Otherwise, boot with USB installation. I got this to boot using 19,2, and the -no_compat_check flag, but the system has some instability and has restarted twice from just moving the mouse. I have an i7-8700k and 19,2 is the only definition with that processor. That doesn't really help if it's not stable. I can change back to 18,3 if you think that will be more stable using the hardware in my signature and 10.13. Picasso
I recommend 18.3, because was the Sys Def that I used for Final Cut. Using all the potential of the GPU + iGPU (Decoding/encoding h264 and 265). (Now I change because I have Radeon VII). I don't think processor works a lot better with different Smbios. Regards!
