niclescuady
I am going completely crazy not able to find an answer or even a reason why me setup won't work. Ok, so I have a 2012 Mac Pro 5.1 (original tray not sure if the mother board was upgraded or not). I was running OS Sierra and I had a flashed nVidia GTX 680 that worked like a charm never an issue. I decided to upgrade because I'm doing more 3D and graphic work now. Initially I bought a nVidia GTX980 and was not able to get it to work at all. I sent it back and bought a nVidia Titan X flashed card. Still no luck. I noticed that the current web drivers are only working for High Sierra so I did a fresh install High Sierra. Then I installed the web drivers and the CUDA drivers in different orders, first installing only the web drivers, then uninstalling the web drivers and installing CUDA drivers first then installing web drivers, no luck. I can't find much info online that would help me solve my issue. I have 10.13.6 with build 17G5019. I installed WebDriver-387.10.10.10.40.118. and CUDA Driver 410.130. Also from my research I disabled SIP and Gatekeeper. So as of right now, if I pop in the nVidia GTC680 will work absolutely no problem. When I put in the Titan X I encounter the following issues: - EVERY time I start the computer I get a little writing on the screen scrolling before I get the apple logo and then a short glitch - Only one monitor (one display at the time) will work either DVI or Display Port ( I have 2 adapters. I can use either display port and they will work but only one at a time - The graphics card will show under "About My Mac" under "Display" tab as well and also shows in "System Report" - The display seem to work ok just when the desktop is sown but when I load a web page ( especially Chrome and less Safari) it's very choppy and glitchy. The display resolution is set to 2650x1600. (I have 2 x 30" Cinema Displays) - I installed all the OS updates - The driver manager won't switch from Default driver to nVidia web driver wither from the top bar or from the System Preferences. It will restart the computer but will not switch. I don't know what else to try at this point. All my web search shows that this setup SHOULD work, but it doesn't! What am I doing wrong? This should be a pretty easy install. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337513-nvidia-titan-x-not-working-mac-high-sierra/ Share on other sites
flowrider
The above answer is incorrect. You need to read this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/titan-x-not-working-in-sierra.2013748/ Lou Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/337513-nvidia-titan-x-not-working-mac-high-sierra/#findComment-2664264 Share on other sites
