Marky Mark
I ran CPU-z and it told me my Celeron is equipped with SSE2 but NOT SSE3. I am trying to install OS X so I can run Final Cut Pro on it, along with iMovie, iPhoto and Garage Band. Does anyone know if these programs can work on SSE2? the_defiant
Yes, they work, if osx86 works on your box. You should use the Jas 10.4.7 ISO as there's no 10.4.8 kernel with SSE3 emulation atm.
Marky Mark
I still haven't been able to get OSx86 running yet but I think it's cuz of my video card isn't compatible. I have an Aopen AX4BS PRO socket 478 m/b with Intel 845S chipset. Does anyone know which video card I could use that would be compatible?
the_defiant
Well, what does it do? It doesn't boot from the install DVD? If so, what install DVD? Have you tried booting with -v and see what it has to say? Have you managed to boot it and you can't install it? Doesn't work is way too vague for most people. Marky Mark
Sorry, I tried using Files-for-OSx86-tiger-patched files I found online and then loaded up Ubuntu Live CD and tried to copy the image file from my slave drive to my master drive and reboot, and supposedly it would install and ask me to reboot then OS X would be up and running. I did that and it just paused at a black screen so I was thinking it may not be compatible with my video card. It's an ATI all-in-Wonder 128 Pro from many years ago, so I thought that may be it. I just recently got JaS ISO DVD but can't remember what version and haven't tried that yet. Thanks for your help, I think I may be a little over my head but it's something I really want to get working.
the_defiant
No problem. It should be easy to install. It's easier than installing an old Windows 98 on a PC. Just read some stuff before. You have to partition your harddisk and make that partition active(in case it doesn't boot after you install it).
