Forcing resolution with GMA 950

I am running 10.4.5 on a Vaio UX280P:

Intel Core Solo 1.2GHz

Intel Chipset 945GM

Intel GMA 950 graphics

My screen's native resolution is 1024x600 but the OS only offers 800x600 and another lower resolution.

I changed the com.apple.boot.plist and added the following line:

<key>Graphics Mode</key>

<string>1024x600x32</string>

but it seems to work for a very brief time immediately upon startup (blue screen), but then switches back to 800x600 :)

I am trying to find a way to force the video card to a set resolution, does anyone know how?

Thanks!

I know this is an old post, but did you ever figure this out? I have one now too and trying to get the graphics working same issue.

Also, ever get the networking working? Doesn't seem like either wired or wireless has drivers even now. :/

THANKS!
