Delta B Cooper
GA-H270M-DS3H Powercolor R9 380 4GB I'm running fine on Sierra, but updating to Mojave or High Sierra causes a graphical issue whereby the screen will freeze. The cursor is still responsive and I can SSH to the machine, but nothing comes through the video card, other than the aforementioned cursor movement. Initially the error seemed to pop up at seemingly random intervals, but recently I've been able to recreate it. I'll open firefox and start playing youtube. Sometimes it'll play without issue on first try. When I navigate to another video, though, it may freeze up. Youtube gives me the "if the video doesn't start soon, restart your device" error message. At this point, if I quit firefox, the system's video will freeze. It's not limited to Firefox, either. I can recreate the issue in spotify listenening to music and chrome watching video. For this reason, I thought maybe it was related to DRM content, but it might also be acceleration. It will also happen when the screensaver starts. There's nothing funny in any logs that I can see. I started with the iMac18,1 cause it was the nearest my CPU and have since tried numerous others. I'm hoping somebody more familiar than I am might be able to help me out! Have you tried enabling the IGPU? I think H265 decoding is only supported on AMD Fury cards and newer RX cards. Your IGPU has that capability. IMac 18.3 and enable IGPU.
