Damx
Notebook Specs: Mobo: Dell Inspiron 15-5547 CPU: Intel Core i7-4510U @2.00GHz Integrated Graphics: Intel Graphics 4400 Discreet Graphics: AMD Radeon R7 M265 Display: 1366 x 768 Ethernet: Realtek PCI FE (RTL8110) Audio: Realtek ALC3234 Input: Dell Touchpad and Keyboard WiFi: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 Card Reader: Realtek RTS 5179 Not Working: WiFi: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 Card Reader: Realtek RTS 5179 Brightness control with Fn keys Creating Installation Media: 1. Prepare USB drive as described in this guide (MBR FAT32 + HFS+J): https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/ 2. Copy Siera installation to USB using Terminal (assuming you have already downloaded Sierra from Apple store): sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app 3. Install Clover to USB in UEFI mode with the following settings: 4. Note OsxAptioFixDrv-64 in the list if UEFI Drivers 5. Remove all subfolders in EFI/CLOVER/kexts except /Others 6. Place required kexts in EFI/Clover/kexts/Others: FakeSMC.kext (https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-FakeSMC-kozlek) FakePCIID.kext (https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-fake-pci-id/downloads/RehabMan-FakePCIID-2018-0421.zip - use only listed kexts) FakePCIID_Intel_HD_Graphics.kext (from the above link) RealtekRTL8100.kext (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/296190-driver-for-realteks-rtl810x-fast-ethernet-series/) VoodooPS2Controller.kext (https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-voodoo-ps2-controller/downloads/) 7. Replace VBoxHfs-64.efi with HFSPlus.efi in and EFI/Clover/drivers64UEFI (https://github.com/JrCs/CloverGrowerPro/raw/master/Files/HFSPlus/X64/HFSPlus.efi) 8. Place basic config.plist with IGFX4400 settings in EFI/Clover (https://github.com/RehabMan/OS-X-Clover-Laptop-Config/blob/master/config_HD4600_4400_4200.plist) BIOS Setting: Insert your installation USB, restart and enter BIOS Setup with F2 key. Go to BOOT and make sure you have the following settings: Secure Boot = Disabled Load Legacy Option Rom = Enabled Boot List Option = UEFI Install OS X: Restart with installation USB inserted, press F12 to select UEFI USB as boot device. At Clover screen select 'Boot Install MAC OS'. Use Disk Utility to format your hard drive as Apple HFSJ+ and GPT partition scheme. Finish the install, it may take a while. Post Install: Install Clover to your HDD/SSD with the following settings: Mount EFI partition if not yet mounted. Repeat steps 4 to 7 from above procedure when creating installation media, make sure you are now copying to EFI partition located on your hard drive (the one you just mounted). Add other kexts to EFI/Clover/kexts/Others: - ACPIBatteryManager.kext (https://bitbucket.org/RehabMan/os-x-acpi-battery-driver/downloads/) - VoodooHDA.kext Generate your SMUUID by typing uuidgen in Terminal. Use CloverConfigurator to generate unique SMBIOS values - MacbookAir6,1 or MacBookPro11,1 should work with this laptop specs - and transfer these values to your config.plist. If you are familiar with editing the config.plist, at this point you may wish to remove unnecessary patches and fixes. Remove installation USB, restart and enter BIOS Setup with F2. Under BOOT press 'Add Boot Option' and type Clover (or any name you want). Press 'View Boot Option Properties' and input path EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.efi. Restart and enter BIOS Setup again. Go to BOOT -> UEFI BOOT and move the Clover boot entry to the top (F5/F6). Windows Install: Create bootable USB drive which can boot in UEFI mode and drop Windows installation there. Restart and press F12 to select UEFI USB. Run Windows Setup and install it to an empty GPT partition. Note: Do not create Windows partition by MacOS Disk Utility. If you already did so and Windows refused to install, try to delete this partition first leaving an empty space, and then restart the setup again. In my case Windows rewrote my BOOT setting in BIOS, so that the system boots into Windows directly. If that's the case then: Go to BIOS -> BOOT and make sure that Clover boot entry is at the top of the list (see above in Post Install section) Mount your EFI partition on HDD/SSD, go to EFI -> Microsoft -> Boot and rename bootmgfw.efi to bootmgfw-orig.efi (as recommended by RehabMan) Other issues: The existing WiFi card (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160) is not compatible. The only solution is to replace it with any natively supported one, e.g. BCM94352HM with FakePCIID_Broadcom_WiFi.kext. There is a one-second display garble at the end of the boot just before the login screen. There is a patch available, but it did not work for me. If you have the same issue, read this post about the patch: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/fix-resolve-boot-screen-garble.175799/ For more detailed guide on setting up OS X on laptops with Clover you can read this post by RehabMan: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/. You can replace it with any compatible one or use the dongle.
