disordr
Hi all, My mackintosh works fine for about ~1 year (osx 10.13). But I am not able to dual boot windows with clover. To boot into windows, I am mounting the EFI partition and renaming the "Microsoft.bak" folder to "Microsoft". After the next boot, clover is not started and windows will be boot directly. To boot to osx again, I just rename the folder from windows back to "Microsoft.bak". Most likely this is not the way its meant to be. Second issue: some updates in the App Store require osx to be restarted. Installation works fine, the after reboot clover boots to "install Mac osx from osx". This just prints out an error message. So I need to reboot again, and then the updates are still present in the App Store like they would never been installed. Basically I have two questions: - How to fix dual boot to windows - How to fix updates from the app store Some more information about how EFI works would be great. There is also a Ubuntu folder and an Apple folder in my efi mount, and I do not understand why the Microsoft folder seems to be preferred always when booting. Thanks a lot! C.Frio
hi. I do not know your platform ..but imho with osx and windows, the more practical and less stressful ,is to keep them separated on different HDDs.. c.frio Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/334931-efi-boot-somehow-messed-up-no-dual-boot-and-not-update-possible/#findComment-2626696 Share on other sites
