Recommendation for 2 or 4 port SATA PCI card

Does anyone have a recommendation for a working card? 

 

Some of the following have been mentioned looking at posts going back several years but there seems to be mixed results and nothing posted recently with 10.13

ASMedia and Marvell-based controllers usually are compatible with OS X/macOS. You can Google for it and you'll find existing threads related to models used in Hackintoshes. You may also contact manufacturers to verify compatibility with Apple Mac. Those I contacted in the past always replied.

 

Those controllers are usually destined to close a gap on now-ageing desktop systems that do not have native SATA-III and/or USB3.0 capabilities (NB: SATA-1=2003, SATA-II=2004, SATA-III=2009...). This is less likely to be the case for systems compatible with Sierra or High Sierra for simple reasons of age so don't be surprised if you only find old threads about this kind of PCIe controllers. Computers without SATA-III controllers are, at best, about 10yr old...

I got a very cheap Syba card which has been working for many years till now without any issue with Asmedia controller
