Scorpio123
Just a quick question.. How do i stop the MAC from going to sleep when i close the lid? Is there an option somewhere that allows me to stop it from doing that? I just want the screen to turn off, not the OS.. Just like in Windows. Thanks for any help! Neonkoala
Download insomnia.kext - I've uploaded it somewhere on the forums before - and then if you wish to stop it sleeping load it through terminal using: kextload /whatever/folder/you/left/it/in/insomnia.kext To go back to normal either reboot or: kextunload /whatever/folder/you/left/it/in/insomnia.kext Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/33381-stop-laptop-from-sleeping-by-closing-lid/#findComment-235949 Share on other sites
Scorpio123
Thanks for the help, but when i tried to install it, i got the following message in terminal: kextload: extension /Users/shash/Documents/Insomnia/build/Default/Insomnia.kext is not authentic (check ownership and permissions) Any idea wat's wrong? I typed Sudo -s first, so i was doing it under "root"... Neonkoala
As for the kext - you probably need the chmod and chown commands - I've forgotten what they are but they're standard ones.
