Hi! I did my subscription here someday in the past, now I decided to reactivate this account because I need some help (what a selfish guy), but maybe I will be here more frequently because I have an old mac to play and you'll going to like it, though...

Back to the point, I have a Macbook Pro mid 2012 with SSD and 8GB. For months, Apple has asked me to upgrade from macOSX Sierra to High Sierra. When 10.13.2 came out I decided to do it, probably the system will be polished enough... but no! I did some tests as soon I finished the upgrade and it seemed ok. The critical issue I saw only days after, but I forgot to save a copy of old Sierra to come back, and now I am jammed with a major glitch... ok, will stop complaining! The problem:

The graphics of the Intel HD 4000 are not working properly. All effects are slow, like my old MacMini with GMA 950 - screen freezes all the time. To see movies in Youtube, I have to keep mouse pointer moving over the video, or it will freeze, only audio keep going. Netflix seems an slideshow. The difference is huge because graphics runs fast in Sierra, running games like Outlast very smoothly.

After some research and some unanswered questions, I discover that Clover boot loader has a configurator that allows deep manually configuration. I saw a video from a guy that changes the setting for card to "low definition" and it will work again. I was up to install Clover boot loader but it states that is not made for High Sierra, so I am almost back in the square zero.

I know now that there is a way of to change the graphics configuration, however is risky. To change so much the system was not what I have in mind, Clover was made to freak hackers making frankenmacs etc, I use my Mac to code, design, to see Netflix and play some horror survival games! So here is my questions:

Should I take the risk of force install Clover boot loader or there is another way to change that config?

Thanks for your valuable informations! But the problem has mysteriously vanish!

I wasn't make any changes but I have a suspect: Dr. Cleaner, a memory / disk cleaner. It was auto updated today! Since it is an app that works with memory, it might causing some conflict, until developers optimized for High Sierra (think High Sierra deal with memory and disk in different way than Sierra).

I am glad didn't install Clover or perform a clean install, sometimes a bit of patience is needed right?

So that's my additional tip: look for conflicts from old apps still not optimized for newer system.
