Gorosh
I'm still deciding between cards, and I narrowed my choices between X1650 and X1600. After lot of reading I'm still not sure which one is better way to go, since the reports vary. At the moment I have 2xCRT at 1600x1200 in dual display setup (extended mode), but I'll be getting new LCD monitor soon (either at 1600x1200 or 1920x1200), so I'll have LCD+CRT dual display setup (DVI+VGA). Although it's not a must for dual display to work with my hackintosh, it would be nice. I would like to have at least one display 1600x1200 / 1920x1200, with QE and CI. Since X1650 has 2xDVI ports I assume it might have problems with dual display..is then X1600 better option? draconius
I have an MSI Radeon X1600Pro, and it works flawlessly via the boris method, but you can only get single display working (on either DVI or VGA, not both) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/33020-x1650-vs-x1600/#findComment-233318 Share on other sites
boo50
at the moment cheap geforce 7300 gt make this deal. 1 - lcd (even 30" - dual link) 2 - crt (via dvi-to-vga adapter) and go with 256mb card - they have no problems, 512mb cards have problems now. Gorosh
Thanks for your answers. I'm not sure I'd go for nVidia card, so 7300GT might not be an option (I'll think about it, but I doubt it). I've found Powercolor X1650 in one shop near me, so I guess I'm gonna pick that one. However, as I understand, there's more to working card than card itself - it also depends on motherboard for example. What works in one configuration might not work in next, so there's no way to tell that certain card "works" - am I right? I got that impression browsing threads on this forum..
