Need some Bluetooth advice

I'm trying to use a Bluetooth headset as audio i/o for Skype. (osx 10.12.6 + Bluetooth dongle.)

 

The headset connects, it even appears in my Sound I/O options in Sys Prefs ... but if I try to select it, the panel freezes for a few seconds and then disconnects.

 

I tried BrcmPatchRAM but no dice.

 

Someone on reddit said best to get a Broadcom wifi/bt card.

 

I saw this on ebay

Does this plug right into my mobo? Or do I need an adapter as well?

 

I also am wondering ... Is it possible to use an Airport card from an old 2008 MacBook Pro in a desktop Hackintosh (for WiFi & Bluetooth)?
