I tried searching and tried everything I found, but still no luck.

I have a Dell Latitude D600. Graphics card is the ATI Radeon 9000 and the wireless card is the Truemobile 1300. I installed the JaS 10.4.7 disk and everything went fine. In fact, right from the get go, my wireless internet was working. Now, what's really strange is that it was working, but it said I was connected with internal ethernet, not Airport. The icon was at the top but was not configured, and it also would not let me configure it. I thought to myself, "Ok, as long as it works." I then did some work to get the battery meter showing up and tried to get Callisto working, etc. Rebooted, then suddenly no more internet. Everything seemed to be exactly like before, but my miraculous wireless from nowhere was gone. So then I tried using the IO80211Family.kext I found on this site, but still no luck. Can anyone please help me out?

Secondly, in Windows, the highest resolution I can get is 1024x768. Does that mean that's the highest resolution I'll get in OSX? Cause everyone was saying how they got a higher resolution with Callisto, but I can't, even though I'm pretty sure I followed the directions correctly.

Thirdly, animations are reeeeaaaallllyyy slow. It's pretty much annoying enough to make things unusable. Then without wireless, OSx86 is definitely unusable for me. But I've read on this site people that have gotten both these to work. Please help. Thanks.

I've messed with a friend's D600 and it took me hours to get wireless working right, it was very strange. I went into windows and found the Device ID and added that to the IONetworking.kext Then when it came up in the menubar and it was regocinzed I had to go into system preferences and delete the configuration it creats when it notices it. Delete it and then create a new one, using the same interface, then it worked great no probms since.

Search for D600 in the forums, there are tons of people using that laptop. There may be another trick to getting wireless to work, can't remember the name of the file, it's in preferences somewhere I think. They hadto change en0 to en1 or en2, renaming the interface. But you have to change the string en0 and further down, the integer 0 to 1 or 2 as well, that took me a few hours to figure out.

As for your display resolution. If 1024x768 is as high was you get in windows, then you won't get any higher in OS (probably) Dell shipped some D600 with a lower resolution display, 1024x768 (as opposed to the 1400x1050 in many D600s)

For graphics acceleration, I've never gotten anything to work with the mobility 9000. There is something with a kext from the forums called Ati.kext not sure who wrote it, that gives some kind of acceleration, but not CI/QE.

Good luck

for sound modify AppleAC97Audio.kext with your device ID

Thanks. I'll try some of that out.

I did find the thread with the Ati.kext, and I tried it, but it didn't seem to change anything for me. I suppose I'll go to that thread and ask questions there about that specific problem.

Ok, so I tried what you said about editing the IONetworking.kext, and I couldn't even find that kext. I ended up finding all my device ID's in Windows for the problematic hardware, added the right ID to the IO80211Family.kext, and got it partially working. I got it back to having the wireless icon on the menu bar show up, but still no internet. It recognizes having internal ethernet, but won't recognize having airport at all. Perhaps I need to do what you said with changing the en0 to en1. I'll try and search for that thread, but if you happen to know exactly where and can give me a link, that would be great. Thanks for the help you've given so far.

Oh, and with the audio kext, I didn't know where exactly to put in my device ID, so I couldn't get that working either.
