skeeter144
I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but.. Why can't we use the standard nvidia kexts that are included in osx? For example, I have an older system besides my main that runs osx86, but it has the same gforce2 mx card that the emac had, and the geforce2 mx kexts are standard in osx. I know that they don't work, I'm just curious as to why.. trying to learn more! Will the project titan eventually help out with this..? zam
We can only (try) to use kexts that are developed and compiled for Intel architecture, which naturally are only for hardware available in real Intel Macs. There is no reason for Apple to port old PPC drivers for Intel. Titan will help us to use Apple's Nvidia drivers, but of course only Intel-based Nvidia drivers.
