woodcrest
hello okay i will get right to it. is there a way to totally wipe clean a hard drive and format it to use hsf+ and install mac os x. i found a way to load mac os x but it just does not want to recognize that a hard drive is there. i want it as my main os. i downloaded dban to wipe clean my hard drive and after loading darwin and mac os x it just does want to get past the "no hard drive found" place. help please. theSpam
Can you not simply use Disk Utility to repartition/format the drive?
woodcrest
well the thing is i used a program called dban which completely deletes the contents of a hard disk. so now my hard is wiped clean but still NTFS. I am not able to use disk utility because the hard drive is not recongized. i get the loading darwin screen and the apple logo and mac os x ready to install screen but no hard detected. i guess my drive need to be HFS+ but how would i perform that if i am not running mac os x or windows xp yet??? i know that i can pull my drive out and buy a hard drive enclosure and format it HFS+ using my macbook pro but that is too much of a hassle. kemikal-aa
formatting wont fix the problem... what you might need to check is that your motherboard supports your SATA or IDE... that always been my problem there.
