trixxiee
Hi,It is high time I registered to this forum and ask you guys for advice. It is been 6 years now since I built my first hackintosh. Then, I replaced it with Macbook Pro and now I own Macbook Air 13” Early 2014 with 4 GB RAM. I do really miss the workstation where I could edit my videos and develope some RAW in Adobe software… you can imagine how MBA drives me crazy . For this reason I would like to build my second hackintosh. The aim is to have my video/graphic work done smoothly. I’m not a gamer yet having a state-of-the-art workstation would be desired.Components have been more or less taken over from pastrychef’s golden built with small changes:Mainboard: Asus MAXIMUS VIII Genehttps://www.amazon.de/dp/B012NH1MCM/?tag=tonymacx8603-21Processor: Intel Core i7-6700Khttps://www.amazon.de/dp/B010T6DQTQ/?tag=tonymacx8603-21CPU Cooling: Noctua D15Shttps://www.amazon.de/Noctua-NH-D15S/dp/B00Y7928CS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492542575&sr=8-1&keywords=NH+D15S RAM: G.SKILL TridentZ 2x16GB F4-3200C14Dhttps://www.amazon.de/dp/B01ACOFVXE/?tag=tonymacx8603-21PSU: Seasonic X850W 80+ Goldhttps://www.amazon.de/dp/B004ETEFTK/?tag=tonymacx8603-21Chassis: BitFenix Prodigy Mini-ITX Cube Casehttps://www.amazon.de/dp/B008BZYJ6W/?tag=tonymacx8603-21GPU: Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 980 Ti G1http://www.ebay.de/itm/GIGABYTE-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-980-Ti-G1-Gaming-GV-N98TG1-GAMING-6GD/252832227798?_trksid=p2385738.c100677.m4598&_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=20160908110712&meid=672fa865488b4959a807e0254b615d85&pid=100677&rk=3&rkt=24&sd=252832243651HDD: 2x WD Black 2TB 3.5”http://www.ebay.de/itm/WD-Black-RE4-2TB-3-5-Festplatte-7200U-min-SATA-III-64MB-Cache-WD2003FYPS/262104627940?_trksid=p2045573.c100506.m3226&_trkparms=aid=555014&algo=PL.DEFAULT&ao=1&asc=20161121134654&meid=2c1c4139646046ee97174f7b9598822a&pid=100506&rk=1&rkt=1&SSD: Samsung 960 PRO MZ-V6P512BWhttps://www.amazon.de/dp/B01M21311Z/?tag=tonymacx8603-21Display: 4K or 5K(?) screen to be decidedQuestions to be answered: I was thinking about getting EVGA GTX 980 but it’s impossible to find brand new in Germany. What about mentioned Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti? Is is supported? I’m not super experience with current benchmarks stuff and so on and I have no idea what are the pros and cons between same GTX 980 from Gigabyte, MSI, EVGA. Wouldn’t it be better to buy something newer like GTX 1060? I read that NVIDIA released drivers for MacOS recently. If 5K worked seamlessly I wouldn’t hesitate… Do you have any experience with the BitFenix Prodigy? Will Noctua NH-D15S fit to that case? Maybe there’s enough space to install D15? I also read some post about a bit tricky installation of NVMe SSDs. Does Samsung 960 Pro fall into this category? The last question: Maximus Gene VIII has only one PCIe 3.0 x4 is it then possible to install both PCIe based SSD and Fenvi Wireless/Bluetooth card? BALDY_MAN
Air cooling . the easy thing to remember is hot air rises. so pull in air from the lower part of the case and expel from the up most part of a case or positive pressure ,i.e. 3 fans inducting one expelling Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/322998-hackintosh-for-videographics-gtx9801060-checkup-of-components/#findComment-2408687 Share on other sites
