Hi,

I installed before Jas 1.4.6 on AMD 3200+ / NVIDIA NFORCE 4 motherboard.

Today I got my Pentium D 2.8Ghz SSE3 with ASrock conroe945G-DVI and I tried to install Jas 1.4.8 DVD twice and after each install it deletes the partition table of my hdd.

I connected my HDD 120GB ATA on the same cable with my Sony DVD-burner driver.

my Hard driver setup was like this (Smae I used for 1.4.6 that was working)

1. 15GB Fat32 Windows partition (primary)

2. 40GB Journal File system Mac OS X (Primary also)

3. 25 GB NTFS Logical for games and torrents

4. 35GB Fat32 logical for Music.

I installed windows then when I restarted my computer I inserted Hiren's boot tools and used Smart FDisk to make the 2nd primary partition as my active partition. then I rebooted and inserted Jas 1.4.8 to install Mac OS.

I selected Semthex kernel with 900 GMA driver. Check installation disk (I burned it using 4x speed) then installing and after that restarting. When It tried to boot I got Boot error and some numbers.

I used Smart FDISK again and then all my HDD partitions are GONE !!! (I backed up my data so it was not a big issue).

Can some one tell me where I went wrong ? Please, I need your help

EDIT: Is there some option in the BIOS to enable/disable to cause such problems ?

same thing happened to me. i almost lost 175 gigs of data! luckily my other drive was the one with windows on it so i used acronis to recover the partitions. still, it shouldn't do that. anyway, i tried installing again and it didn't delete anything, but this time osx won't boot. it just gives me "chain booting error" so anyway i guess the image is corrupt or something.

Ok. I think I found other associated problems. In fact, I went and used partition commander this time and It found that there is 58GB corrupter image (I think the extended partition had problems) I went and deleted everything and repartitioned this time with it. So I installed Windows again and went to install 1.4.8 and when I tried to format MacOS FAT32 partition to make it Mac OS extended (Journalized) the system hangs while I got this:

new_hfs: /dev/rdisk0s2: No such file or directory

So I ended up restarting manually and all partitions were deleted again.

I will install Windows and then I will try 1.4.6 and report to you
