EdmundF
Hi Guys, I've got my hackintosh working for the first time and now I check the available software. I like the speed of the Safari browser and it has no problems with youtube, unfortunately it doesn't play video's on all websites. What could be the problem here, missing codecs? I installing adobe flash to but still no video on most websites. nawcom
Neither of those sites use Flash. It's HTML5 video and it works fine in Safari. I've read that Safari requires QE/CI enabled in order to play HTML5 video through it. My guess is that's your issue. EdmundF
change your browser man Well I like Safari and asked a friend with a MAC to check the mentioned website and the video plays fine. I couldn't imagine that MAC couldn't play such content. So there is something wrong on my system. BTW another browser Firefox does play the content. Neither of those sites use Flash. It's HTML5 video and it works fine in Safari. I've read that Safari requires QE/CI enabled in order to play HTML5 video through it. My guess is that's your issue. OK that is hopeful, where can I find and enable this? nawcom
Install correct driver support for your video card. You never mentioned what video card you're using. There are a few ways to figure out if you have video acceleration enabled (which means Quartz Extreme / Core Image is enabled) but a definitive way is to run OpenGL Extensions Viewer and it will tell you there. EdmundF
It is the ASUS Radeon HD 5450 DirectX 11 EAH5450. What puzzles me is that the video's play fine with the Firefox browser, so why don't it under Safari?
