agentsmith_98
Specs for my Laptop: Laptop: Sony Viaio E Processor: Core i3 2328M Gpu: 4GB Ram HDD: 5200RPM HDD GPU: Intel HD-3000 I have a Niresh's Maverick installed and then I used the MacPwn tool to upgrade to Yosemite but when I boot to the installer it shows the apple logo goes through and then gives me a stop sign kind of an image and does nothing. I would also like to learn how would boot with verbose. Also one last thing how do I add bootflags to it because it opens in the clover bootloader and then I have to just click enter by highlighting the External device and so it starts doing it stuff! nawcom
Keep in mind that Skylake CPUs aren't supported until 10.11.4 so in order to use OS X versions older than that you need to mod the kernel. Your laptop model uses Nvidia Optimus which isn't supported, which means you're limited to Intel graphics. As such, your Intel graphics doesn't even have a driver until 10.11.4 or later, so installing an older version like 10.10 isn't worth it. An Apple logo tells you nothing. Always boot in verbose mode so you can troubleshoot your issue. As for the blinking issue, that just sounds like you're trying to boot the USB media in a mode it's not made for and as a result the BIOS/UEFI can't boot it. I have no idea how you installed the Clover bootloader to USB via the method you followed so I can't tell if it's installed for legacy or UEFI. nawcom
I see you completely changed your original post content including the laptop model info. Please don't do that as my response post now makes ZERO sense. Just post a following message asking about a different laptop model next time. As for your change - Sandy Bridge CPUs and HD3000 will run fine in 10.10. Some Vaio models have EDID issues with their displays so you'll figure out if you're dealing with that soon enough. Press space bar when you select the volume to boot and you'll see various options including booting in verbose mode (boot flag -v). You can also edit the config.plist or alter various settings in the config.plist at the boot screen in Options. See: https://clover-wiki.zetam.org/configuration/boot#boot_arguments A stop sign usually means you got a waiting for root device error. Boot in verbose mode to verify this. You get that when no driver is loaded for the storage controller your boot media is attached to. In your case, it's USB, so you'll have to identify what's stopping the USB kexts from working with your laptop's USB which is unsurprisingly common for laptops. There are various fixes you can try within the Clover config.plist or you can manually patch your laptop's DSDT.
