System Specs:

Model: Dell Inspiron 5558
CPU: Core i7 5500U
RAM: 16GB
Graphics: nVidia 920M (which is disabled by nv_disable=1 boot argument) / Intel HD5500

Problem:

I was able to install El Capitan on my system using Rehabman's config.plist for HD5500. I had to disable inject intel in order to get the installer up and running. I know I can't get full qe/ci support without proper ig-platform-id (which is defined in the plist provided by Rehabman's). But when I inject ig-platform-id the system keeps rebooting right after the following message:

Waiting for DSMOS...
IOGraphics flags 0x43
Previous shutdown cause: 5
**** [IOBluetoothHostControllerUSBTransport][start] -- completed -- result = TRUE -- 0xb000 ***

With Broadwell graphics, you need to adjust DVMT for video memory. This can be done by patching the BDW framebuffer or modding your BIOS.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't know how to mod BIOS and I'm also afraid that it'll affect my warranty. Trying BDW framebuffer patch and will update you soon.

UPDATE:

@Hervé Thanks a lot, patching BDW framebuffer worked for me. The following patch was already available in the Rehabman's config.plist.

Name=AppleIntelBDWGraphicsFramebuffer, Find=4139C4763E, Replace=4139C4EB3E

I enabled it and it worked like a charm. Once again many many thanks.
