digitalgopher
I switched my DVD drive to the IDE 1 Slave, and attempted again to to install. I let it run, and I get the Apple logo with 'Stop" icon (Circle with the slash through it) Then I tried again and typed -v and looked what was going on and it stopped at "Still waiting for root device" and it just stops there. I have: SSE3 capable Intel Celeron D 3.2GHz 1024MB of RAM ATI Radeon X1300 Pro 160GB HDD Please, someone help me. I've been trying for almost a week to get this installed. I've been pulling my hair out trying to get this to work. Please ! bottleNeckKiller
Your HDD have setting on it, slave and master, and set it to master. Your motherboard have two IDE(PATA) slot, primary and secondary, and use primary. This is all inside the computer case. bottleNeckKiller
Your HDD should be in channel 1 or even better channel 0 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/32008-1047-doesnt-boot-still-waiting-for-root-device/#findComment-224380 Share on other sites
digitalgopher
Would I just have to do the jumper thing like I did with the DVD drive? Which pin do I slide the plastic thing over?
