nawcom Posted December 23, 2016 Share Posted December 23, 2016 No you don't. I still run the latest version of OS X (10.12) on non-UEFI systems myself. Press alt-L or select Window on the menu bar -> Installer Log the next time you try to install and see what's being reported as the cause of the issue.
