I tried installing with the generic install dvd release 1. The iso I got was around 4 gig. I burned a dvd using Nero Burning rom. I had to use UDF since it said it wouldn't fit in an iso format. When I tried to boot with it it took me to a list of operating systems and I booted into windows, nothing happened. Can anybody tell me how to fix this, did I burn it wrong since i just burned the iso? Wouldn't it be easier if somebody just posted an image of a 20 gig harddrive that was installed with a patched install dvd. It would be much more effective than the deadmoo image and I could use the install on a partition simple and accurate guide to install osx86.

Thanks.

burning just the iso doesnt make it a bootable disk. if u want to use nero burning rom, get into the app, and close any wizards that come up. then go to Recorder -> Burn Image and direct it to the iso. then burn!

and for the record its not as efficient if som1 does the image thing you suggested. for one, it would take forever for anybody to download, it would have to be posted multiple times, one for sse2 and one for sse3, and some ppl dont have extra hdds to store such an image. so go patch release1!!

thanks for the reply I got it to work using the following method. Go into nero and open the install dvd release 1 iso instead of trying to burn it. then burn it. go into windows and create a partition that's hfs +. pop in the dvd and boot. before you do anything in the gui. Click on utilities disk utility and erase your HFS + partition. then verify your partition and repair it just to be safe. continue with the installer. This will give you two partitions with windows and osx on each. It is by far the best install method.

For info on how to create a partition look at the install on a partition simple and accurate installation guide. Using the installation guide that I listed will allow you to leave your existing windows system the way it is.
