Riaz
hi there, I just installed JaS 10.4.6 in my PC. wow this is kewl. But I have a problem with network. My onboard Intel 10/100 VE Ethernet card wasn't working in my XP as well, so I bought Linksys LNE100TX and installed XP and mac os x. Now I can't get my network problem fixed. I searched the forum regarding the fixing using Tulip and copied and fixed it under terminal sudo bash command. But it seems like it is not effective after my reboot. Is there any geek who can help me fix this? It is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. McSkywalker
Did you enter your device & vendor ID's in tulip? If yes, then try this one (I'm not sure if it will work for you, just give it a try): replace the device & vendor ID's with your card (especially Linksys) with a property list editor and follow the installation instructions. http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...showtopic=15700 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/31586-ethernet-controller/#findComment-220010 Share on other sites
Riaz
Thanks for replying how to find the device and vendor ID? do I have to look that from properties under window xp device manager? if so I found a line which says something like this. PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_165E&SUBSYS_0890103C&REV_03 Is my Vendor ID: 14E4 and Device ID: 165E? I haven't updated this info under my tulip file that I used under terminal command. Rammjet
According to a quick Google search, the Linksys LNE100TX has been produced in 5 different versions with 5 different chipsets. Some of those versions are not compatible with the Tulip driver. And none of them are compatible with existing OSX drivers that might be modded. I would suggest getting a real Realtek 8139 or 8169 ethernet card. Edit: 14e4:165e is a (Broadcom) NetXtreme BCM5705M_2 Gigabit Ethernet Try this driver: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=129533 and this guide: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=121928 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/31586-ethernet-controller/#findComment-220078 Share on other sites
