Hello,

My friend was throwing away his old 24" cinema display from 2010 and I was searching for a secondary monitor so I said that I would take it. Anyway so the power supply seemed to be the culprit  but a new power supply costs the same as a new monitor so I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to hook it up to another (preferably cheaper) power supply instead? The logic board seems intact so it will be possible to reuse that in this project as well.  I would love to get it working, so any help would be much appreciated. I uploaded some pics of it just incase thats of any use.

Many thanks.

Just my 2¢

Yeah, I was kinda looking for a way to avoid buying one of those original PSU's, and instead use something a little cheaper. I saw this: http://reismanitservices.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/replacement-power-adapter-for-23-apple.html

which does show that it is possible however I'm just a bit unsure as to whether I can use the same model of power supply they use since I'm using a newer version of the cinema display.
