lukeyboy40
Hi all new to this site At the moment I have everything installed on my Yosemite installation but I am having to use the Intel HD 3000 onboard graphics as my current 6950 is not compatible. Is there anyway where I can leave the graphics card in the PCI-E slot which I can use for Windows and then when I dual boot into OS X I can use the onboard. Is there a way in the BIOS where I can switch between the two. For example is there something that can trick OS X into ignoring what is in the first PCI-E slot and just boot using the onboard. It just saves me having to insert and take out my 6950 each time I want to boot Windows as that is what I use to play games on. Thanks!
clipper99
My BIOS allows me to select the default graphics configuration. I currently have an unsupported EVGA GTX1060 card that does not work in OSX but like you, I use for Windows. I have an HDMI cable attached to it and the onboard HDMI graphics (in my case HD530) running to my display. In my BIOS I select either pcie (external) or igfx (internal for OSX) then adjust the display to the correct input and I dual boot using the video card of my choosing. Hope this helps.
